LIVE FROM THE TOP OF THE TOWER
MUSIC
The main room under the clock is a 40m2 space in what was designed as a bell chamber as part of the spire of St Pancras. It never actually held bells and the wooden louvres which looked down to the street are now fitted with dotted glass replacements. The whole room has secondary glazing to provide protection from outside noise.
The room is set up with cameras and microphones for recording needs and PA and projection equipment for music or visual performance. We welcome artists who need a space to record audition videos or promotional material for competitions or applications for positions.
The room is especially suited for chamber music, singers and pianists and small groups of acoustic or amplified performers. If the piano isn't needed, it fits under the stairs to allow the rest of the room to be in full use.
We are very happy to let people use the tower room for performances of music or other cultural events. Although we do not organise them directly ourselves, we list here the links to sites where others are promoting themselves

Sunday 11 October 2026 - 13:00-15:00
Contemporary string trio J.A.M. String Collective perform moments from their acclaimed debut album ‘She Looks Up at the Trees’ in the intimate venue of The Clock Tower above St Pancras Chambers. The music occupies a fluid space between jazz and contemporary string sound worlds, with improvisatory elements running throughout.
The album also features a newly composed suite of music written for ‘Improvising String Trio & Loop Pedals’ by Oleta Haffner (Jonas Gwangwa Composition Initiative Awardee). The thematic material in Haffner’s ‘Elemental Suite’ depicts the devastation of the Climate Crisis in dramatic and virtuosic melodic statements and expansive cinematic group improvisations, punctuated by a rich percussive palette in the looped beats.

SOME PAST PERFORMERS
We have held some interesting musical and other events in the clock tower, most notably for our 50th birthdays when we had series of performances by Gisele Edwards, the aerialist, which can be seen below.
A more recent performance of her work Rasa, a choreographic exploration of the spatiality of sound can be seen here. We have a pre-rigged bar in the ceiling just in case we are visited again by an aerialist or rope artist.
